OptOutPrescreen.com is a centralized service to accept and process requests from consumers to "Opt-In" or “Opt-Out” of firm offers of credit or insurance. 

OptOutPrescreen.com is a joint venture among Equifax, Experian, Inc., Innovis Data Solutions, Inc., and TransUnion, LLC, aka, Consumer Credit Reporting Companies.  

The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) allows you the ability to "Opt-Out", which prevents Consumer Credit Reporting Companies from providing your credit file information for firm offers of credit or insurance that are not initiated by you.

Removing your name from these lists for firm offers of credit or insurance does not affect your ability to apply for or obtain credit or insurance                                                                                                                                                                                                          

What is Electronic Opt-Out for Five Years?

Opting-Out refers to the process for removing your name from lists supplied by the Consumer Credit Reporting Companies, Equifax, Experian, Innovis and TransUnion, to be used for firm (preapproved / prescreened) offers of credit or insurance. Your rights as a consumer under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) include the right to "Opt-Out" for 5 years or permanently.

What is Permanent Opt-Out by Mail?

Opting-Out refers to the process for removing your name from lists supplied permanently.

If you choose permanent Opt-Out, you must "confirm" your request in writing by submitting a signed Permanent Opt-Out Election form. You can submit this request here:  Permanent Opt-Out

At the time that you submit your electronic request, you will receive a confirmation that you should print along with the Permanent Opt-Out Election Form. You must return the signed Permanent Opt-Out Election form to Opt-Out.  In the interim, the company will complete a 5 year Opt-Out request on your behalf within 5 business days. Your request will become permanent when they receive your signed Permanent Opt-Out Election form.  

Of course, "permanent" does not mean "changeless" when it comes to credit card companies.  They will gladly allow you to "Opt-In" if you so decide.  You can submit this request here: Opt-In
